Cheeky Opera - brought to you by the team who created the Dhungala Choral Connection Song Book!
Based on the award winning children’s book Go Home, Cheeky Animals by Alywarr artist Dion Beasley and children’s author Johanna Bell, this brand new resource will provide teachers and children with everything they need to stage their own opera.
Music and lyrics by award winning composers Deborah Cheetham AO (Yorta Yorta) and Jess Hitchcock (Saibai, Torres Strait Islands) this children’s opera is the perfect cross-curricular classroom resource for primary school teachers who wish to engage with Indigenous languages and culture. Costume, props and art by Zeena Tesoriero (Saibai, Torres Strait Islands).
Cheeky Opera is currently in development with the Dhungala Children’s Choir and is due for release mid 2021.
